Step back in time to 1910 and experience the history of Slater Park at the Looff Carousel Heritage Festival, part of the Pawtucket Arts Festival and Slater Park Festival.
Celebrate the era when the historic Looff Carousel first arrived at Slater Park with an afternoon of living history, exhibits, lectures, museum tours, entertainment, and 5¢ carousel rides.
Explore the 1685 Daggett House Museum with free tours throughout the afternoon, see a unique handcrafted 1917 Speedster made from an American LaFrance fire engine, and discover the fascinating history of Slater Park and its beloved carousel through the Anna Kent Partridge Lecture Series at the J.C. Potter Casino.
The lecture series features a pictorial history of Slater Park along with special presentations from Keep the Carousel Turning, exploring the life of carousel maker Charles Looff, the carousel’s move to Slater Park in 1910, the community effort to save it in 1971, and its historic restoration.
Come experience more than a century of Pawtucket history and celebrate the people, stories, and traditions that have helped make Slater Park a treasured part of the community.
