The Slater Park Fest serves as a major highlight of the multi-day Pawtucket Arts Festival, transforming Rhode Island's historic Slater Memorial Park into a weekend celebration of community and culture. Attracting upwards of 12,000 attendees annually, this free outdoor event brings families, artists, and food lovers together to experience open-air entertainment.
At the center of the festival is a curated arts marketplace that showcases the handmade creations of more than 100 local crafters and artisans. Visitors can stroll down the park pathways to browse unique goods while sampling diverse culinary options from a rotating lineup of local food trucks. The family-friendly atmosphere is further enriched by specialized children's activities, interactive community events, and rides on the park's historic Looff Carousel.
The festival weekend focuses heavily on regional creativity, highlighting continuous live musical performances from local bands and diverse cultural groups across the park stages. This provides a lively backdrop for neighbors and tourists alike to gather on blankets and lawn chairs, celebrating Pawtucket's vibrant local music and arts scene throughout the two-day gathering.

Stroll through the park and discover the work of more than 100 local artists, artisans and crafters. The festival’s outdoor marketplace features an incredible variety of unique, handmade goods and one-of-a-kind finds. Live Music & Entertainment
Music fills Slater Park throughout the weekend with continuous live performances featuring local and regional musicians and cultural groups. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, grab something to eat and enjoy live entertainment while taking in everything happening around the park.
Roomful of Blues
Catch legendary Rhode Island favorites Roomful of Blues live at Slater Park! With a history stretching back nearly six decades, the internationally recognized band brings its signature mix of blues, swing, rock & roll and horn-driven rhythm & blues to the Pawtucket Arts Festival.

Looff Carousel Heritage Festival
Step back in time during the inaugural Looff Carousel at Slater Park Heritage Festival, happening Saturday from 12–5 PM.
Centered around Slater Park’s historic 1895 Looff Carousel, this special celebration brings Pawtucket history to life with five-cent carousel rides, vintage-style keepsake photography, historic tours, art and cultural exhibits, heritage demonstrations, traditional lawn games and more.
Visitors can also explore Slater Park’s historic triangle—the Looff Carousel, Daggett House and J.C. Potter Casino—and learn more about the people, places and traditions that shaped the park.
Meet Charles I.D. Looff
History comes to life with a special appearance by Charles I.D. Looff, portrayed by TEN31 Productions. Learn about the legendary carousel builder behind Slater Park’s treasured Looff Carousel and discover the story of this Pawtucket landmark that has delighted generations of families.
Explore the Historic Daggett House
Take a complimentary guided tour of the Daggett House Museum, one of Pawtucket’s oldest surviving homes. Built in 1685, the house offers visitors a fascinating look into centuries of local history and life in early Pawtucket.
History, Art & Heritage
There’s even more to discover throughout the Heritage Festival! Visit the J.C. Potter Casino for art and cultural exhibits presented by the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, watch demonstrations by the Rhode Island Spinners Guild, see a vintage 1916 fire truck, enjoy traditional lawn games and explore special presentations celebrating the history of Slater Park and its carousel.
The festival will also debut the Anna Kent Partridge Lecture Series, featuring presentations about Slater Park, Charles I.D. Looff, the restoration of the carousel and the ongoing work to preserve these important pieces of Pawtucket history.

Come hungry! A variety of local food trucks and vendors will be serving up plenty of options throughout the weekend. Grab lunch, find a sweet treat or pick up something to enjoy while listening to the music and exploring the festival.

Slater Park Festival is designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Along with the carousel and Heritage Festival activities, families can enjoy children’s activities, interactive community events, live entertainment and plenty of room to explore one of Pawtucket’s most beautiful parks.
Saturday Night Concert & Fireworks
Don’t head home when the daytime festival ends! Saturday evening continues with a special Rhode Island Wind Ensemble performance from 7:00–8:30 PM, followed by the festival’s spectacular fireworks display.
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, settle in under the stars and enjoy a summer evening of music before the sky lights up over Slater Park.
